OKTOBERFEST 7s

21. + 22. September 2019, Olympic Stadium Munich

France

France is the only continental European country where rugby is traditionally a national pastime. Accordingly, there is a steady supply of top players. This ensures that Les Bleus are always competitive on the world’s top level, although the big titles have eluded the French squad so far.

At the inaugural Oktoberfest 7s in 2017, France lost to eventual champion Australia in the quarterfinals and finished the tournament in 8th place. In 2019, the team of Jerome Daret will try to improve on that result – certainly again with the enthusiastic support of the big French community in Munich.
