19. + 20. September 2020, Olympic Stadium Munich

Group B

The USA are the shooting stars in Olympic Rugby: After a long streak of double-digit finishes in the World Rugby Sevens Series, the Eagles joined the world’s elite national teams in the 2014-15 season. After four years with 5th or 6th finishes, the 2018-19 season brought another leap: With five Cup final appearances in a row, including a win at their home tournament in Las Vegas, the Eagles finished the 2019 season in second place in the overall World Series ranking.

The team of Mike Friday will try to continue its rise in their first appearance at the Oktoberfest 7s. The Eagles will be able to build on the historic success of US athletes in the Olympic Stadium: At the 1972 Olympics, the US team lead the Athletics medal count with 22.
